Optimizing your Wi-Fi functionality

When choosing a location for your Wi-Fi router it is important to consider factors that may impede your signal. Routers send signal in all directions so try and find a central location that is unobstructed from building materials such as brick or concrete. Electronic devices such as microwaves and cordless phones may also interfere with signal, so place your router away from these devices if possible. If you are still experiencing spotty connection in certain rooms in your home, consider a Wi-Fi extender to optimize the speed and range of your connection in trouble areas.

Rebooting your Wi-Fi router

To manually reset your router first unplug the equipment from its power source, wait ten seconds, and replug the equipment back in. Allow up to ten minutes for the router to properly reboot before checking internet functionality.
